      The Central Coast Local Health District has an opportunity available for a temporary part-time Community Engagement Officer with the All-Inclusive Care for Older People (ALICE) Program, based at Gosford Hospital. This role is pivotal in fostering community connections within the Long Jetty and The Entrance areas, ensuring that our local older population has access to vital resources and support. As the face of the ALICE program, you will play a critical role in building relationships, coordinating events, and enhancing awareness of the services available to our community members. Your efforts will directly contribute to improving the health and well-being of older individuals in the region.

      In this role, you will develop and implement community engagement strategies that resonate with residents and organisations. Your primary responsibilities will include coordinating outreach initiatives to raise awareness of the ALICE program, compiling an inventory of community assets that support older people, and organising health promotion events that foster community spirit and service access. You will also establish an information hub that provides tailored advice and support to older individuals, ensuring they are informed about the resources available to them. Effective communication is key, as you will manage newsletters and other multimedia platforms to keep the community engaged and informed.

      About You

      • We
        are looking for individuals with a background in community engagement,
        public relations, or similar roles, who can demonstrate successful
        strategies for fostering community involvement and support.
      • Bachelor
        Degree that required a minimum of three years full time study in a field
        relevant to this role (ie; community engagement, public relations)
      • Current
        Driver’s Licence and ability to travel across sites within the District
        and to other external sites as required.
      • You
        have well developed written, verbal, and interpersonal communication
        skills. You must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
        while also collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary
        team.

      Where you’ll be working

      You will be based at Gosford Hospital but will spend significant time in the pilot community of Long Jetty and The Entrance. This environment requires flexibility and self-motivation, as you will often work independently while building trust and rapport with community stakeholders. Your role will involve traveling to various community meetings and events, representing the ALICE program and engaging with a diverse range of audiences. You will collaborate closely with cross-institutional teams to ensure that all messaging is cohesive and aligned with the program’s goals.
