The Central Coast Community Council team would like to congratulate board member Brittani Presland on receiving the 2023 Central Coast Australia Day Young Person of the year award. The award celebrates a person who has made significant contribution to the community. It not only acknowledges an individual’s high levels of achievement in their respective field but also recognises the inspiration and role model qualities provided to their peers. ![]()
Brittani is a Financial Analyst studying a Master of Business Administration/Master of Finance at Newcastle University and serves on a range of community-based boards and committees. Brittani joined the Central Coast Community Council board in November 2022 and brings with her a drive and enthusiasm to give back to her local community. ![]()

NSW Supreme Court to Hear COVID-19 Fines Test Case
The COVID-19 fines test case that was filed in the NSW Supreme Court in July this year will be heard next week on Tuesday, 29 November 2022.
Redfern Legal Centre is representing three plaintiffs who received a COVID-19 fine of between $1000 and $3000. One plaintiff, Mr Rohan Pank, had his fine withdrawn ... figures obtained by Redfern Legal Centre from Revenue NSW and Police NSW, that COVID-19 fines were disproportionately issued to those living in low socio-economic areas of NSW. We also know from our experience advising clients that many fines were issued not in accordance with the law.

Today, November 25th, is the International Day to Eliminate Violence against Women.![]()
It starts the “16 days of Activism” – raising awareness of the struggle women and girls have around the world experiencing forms of violence.![]()
The 16th day, December 10th, is “Human Rights Day”. Domestic Violence, or Intimate Partner Violence, and Family Violence, is a human rights issue.![]()
Gender based violence, abuse, power and control in the home is a main presenting settlement issue for women in our region, but it is hard to see!![]()
We would like to acknowledge all those who are at the frontline supporting all women and children to be safe.![]()
Violence and abuse in the home is happening to women of all ages, elderly and the young, and our CALD community members are one of the most vulnerable groups.![]()
If you can, in any small way, give your support through these 16 days to raise awareness through your communities, family, coworkers and friends.![]()
Note: The Walk against Domestic Violence in Gosford is on the 7th December. Commencing at 10.00am , supporters will meet at Coast Shelter (346 Mann Street, Gosford), before heading into Kibble Park to hear from speakers and visit stalls.![]()
