Rotary Walking for Wellness Family Fun Day

Rotary Walking for Wellness Family Fun Day … is the first of a proposed annual event to be held on the Central Coast. Scheduled in April, the event was washed out at the time and postponed.

Rotary is pleased to advise that the Kariong Somersby Rotary Walking for Wellness Family Fun Day is now rescheduled for Sunday 8th September. All other details of the event remain the same.

They are seeking the support of local and national health organisations to help them make this a great day for the community, either by way of conducting an information booth / exhibition at the completion of the walk, contributing to sponsorship of the event, or both. It would be amazing if your organisation (and any other that you could link them with) is available to be a part of this exciting event. There is no cost to any organisation to have an information stall on the day. We expect to have more than 20 information booths, as we are reaching out to many other health organisations, including mental health, youth and indigenous services.

Most excitingly, the Central Coast top rating radio station StarFM has agreed to be our commercial sponsor, which will significantly increase the participation and awareness on the day.

Rotary Walking for Wellness Family Fun Day will take place on Sunday 8th September along the lake foreshore of Long Jetty and The Entrance. It will be a day of fun and wellness information and activity for families, while at the same time raising awareness and funds for the health and well-being of Central Coast residents. A conceptual overview of the day is in the attached event flyer. The walk will start at 9.30am and we anticipate that the whole event will conclude early afternoon.

Key to the success of the event (and indicator of annual potential) will be the support and involvement of various health and wellness organisations. Rotary would welcome and be very grateful for your support in this milestone event. As part of Rotary at large, Kariong Somersby Rotary is serious about doing what it can to help raise awareness of health and well-being in the community and where possible, raise funds to assist accordingly.
