• Hi all, Posting on behalf of the SafetyNet Pet Program!

SafetyNet PetAssist™ : Saving pets & supporting people

For many people facing hardship, their pets are more than companions—they are a vital source of emotional support. But when a pet becomes sick or injured, veterinary costs can be overwhelming, sometimes forcing heartbreaking decisions like delaying treatment, surrendering a beloved animal, or even euthanasia due to financial constraints.

To address this SafetyNet PetAssist™, is a pilot program co-built with VetPartners and VetChat, to provide free 24/7 vet telehealth and subsidised urgent in-clinic care for eligible pet owners in the Newcastle, Hunter and Central Coast areas. By facilitating equitable access to veterinary care, the program helps keep pets healthy, happy, and with their families — where they belong.

If you have a client or know someone who may be eligible for the program, please share information about the programme with them. Support is available for those people who are:

      • In financial hardship and unable to pay for their pet’s (dog or cat) treatment.
      • Living within the pilot area: LGAs in NSW: Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Cessnock, Maitland, Port Stephens, Central Coast
      • 18 years or older.
      • Receiving a Centrelink or Department of Veterans’ Affairs support payment and hold either a Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card.

Thanks for your support. Together we can make a real difference.
