• POSTING ON BEHALF OF The Survivor Hub

      Dear colleagues,

I’m reaching out to help increase awareness of The Survivor Hub (TSH) and to encourage referrals to this free, peer‑led support option available to survivors of sexual assault on the Central Coast.

Last month was Sexual Assault Awareness Month, it feels especially important to ensure young people and adults know that support is available beyond clinical services, in ways that are safe, inclusive, and choice‑based.

      About The Survivor Hub

The Survivor Hub is a free, peer‑led survivor support network that offers:

      · A moderated online Facebook peer support group

      · In‑person Meet Ups held across Australia; Community‑based gatherings centred on shared lived experience, connection, and recovery

The Survivor Hub is designed to complement professional services, not replace them, and may be especially helpful for people seeking connection, peer validation, and a non‑clinical support space.

Central Coast Survivor Hub Meet Up (Gosford)

The Central Coast Meet Up is held monthly in Gosford and provides a facilitated, trauma‑informed peer space for survivors.

      · When: Second Monday of every month, 6:00–7:30pm

      · Where: The Foundry Co‑Work, Gosford

      · Cost: Free

      · Who: Survivors of sexual assault aged 16+ seeking peer support in a safe, facilitated environment

The space is generously supported by Mel Archer from The Foundry Co‑Work.

      Facilitation

The Gosford Meet Up is facilitated by:

      · Renee Marie Simpson, Youth Development Officer in local government, with a professional background in school counselling and youth work. Renee is also the author of I Want to Go Home – Reclaiming Power After Sexual Assault, available via local libraries and Amazon.

      · Samantha Fin, counsellor, psychotherapist, and international artist, bringing a holistic, creative, and trauma‑informed lens, with experience supporting people experiencing anxiety, depression, neurodivergence, grief, and perinatal mental health.

Together, the facilitators offer a non‑clinical, peer‑supported environment grounded in safety, compassion, and survivor choice.

The group has demonstrated strong community engagement and was successful in receiving Club Grant funding in October last year, supporting its continuation beyond its second‑year anniversary.
